LEADERSHIP

Shlomi Ronen Principal / Founder

Shlomi Ronen is a managing principal and founder of Dekel Capital where he oversees the Company’s investment, lending and capital advisory platforms.

He has worked in real estate for over 25 years and has spent the last 22 years working in commercial real estate investment and finance role. In the past 22 years he has invested or sourced more than $5 billion in equity, mezzanine, and debt financing for investors and developers throughout the United States.

Prior to founding Dekel Capital he was a founding partner of Lucent Capital and opened and co-headed the Los Angeles office for the Carlton Group, a New York based real estate investment banking firm, and was a Senior Vice President at Los Angeles based George Smith Partners, where he was active in raising joint venture equity on behalf of institutional clients and executing both performing and non-performing note sales on behalf of financial institutions.

Mr. Ronen earned his MBA with a concentration in Real Estate Finance at the University of Southern California. Mr. Ronen is an adjunct professor at USC teaching a graduate level course on Real Estate Capital Markets in the Master’s of Real Estate Program.

A frequent guest presenter at industry conferences, he is also an active participant in numerous professional and charitable organizations including the Urban Land Institute SSDC Blue, ICSC, USC Lusk Center and the Los Angeles Jewish Federation’s Real Estate Cabinet. In October 2010, Mr. Ronen was named by Real Estate Forum magazine to its 40 Under 40 list.

Vishal Vanjani Managing Director, Head of Correspondent Lending

Vishal Vanjani is a Managing Director for Dekel Capital where he oversees correspondent lending and the origination of fixed and floating rate commercial real estate financings for all asset types across the United States.

His career as an expert in Real Estate Finance spans over 25 years with over $15 billion in transactions. Prior to Dekel, Vishal oversaw the real estate lending vertical within CION Investments, a $5+ billion alternative asset manager. Before joining CION, Vishal spent three years as President of Greenbridge Finance, the financing arm of Greenbridge Management which is a full-service commercial real estate firm that owns and operates office and mixed-use projects across Los Angeles. Vishal previously held managerial positions at Natixis and Capital Source wherein he oversaw Western Region / West Coast real estate lending operations including both CMBS and bridge financing.

Vishal brings a unique level of real estate financing expertise that allows him to provide dynamic and efficient financing solutions for borrowers. His tenure in the industry, extensive network, and experience structuring and closing complicated single transactions and debt facilities afford our clients a variety of financing options to address even the most complex of capital needs.

Vishal earned a Bachelor of Science in Real Estate from University of Southern California wherein he serves as a board member of and an active participant in the USC Lusk Center for Real Estate. He is also an active member of YPO.

Benjamin Grosberg Vice President

Matin has extensive experience in securing financing on a wide variety of complex real estate transactions including the acquisition, refinancing, recapitalization and the adaptive reuse of individual assets and portfolios in hospitality, industrial, multifamily, office and retail.

Matin was born and raised in Los Angeles. He earned a B.S. in Biology from the University of California, Santa Barbara and earned a Certificate in Real Estate from UCLA.

Benjamin Markiles Associate

Ben Markiles joined Dekel Capital in January 2023 as an associate focused on originating debt transactions across all asset types and markets within the U.S.

Before joining Dekel, Ben served as an Associate at CION Investments originating CMBS and Bridge debt, and prior to that served as an Analyst in LoanCore Capital’s San Francisco office, assisting in the origination of debt across the Western United States. He started his career at Deutsche Bank’s CMBS investment platform in Los Angeles. Ben has been involved in upward of $2.0 billion in real estate financings in his career.

Ben was born and raised in Los Angeles and earned a Bachelor of Science in Quantitative Economics from Tufts University.

Javier De Leon Associate

Javier De Leon joined Dekel Capital in June 2022 as an investments associate, where he specializes in identifying and underwriting real estate investment and development opportunities, negotiating transactions, and coordinating financing and acquisition processes.

Although he was born and raised in Southern California, Javier began his career in Mexico as a practicing attorney, advising on real estate transactions and financings. He worked for Greenberg Traurig's Mexico City-based Real Estate group and the Mexican subsidiary of Thor Equities. To transition to the deal side of the business, he pursued a dual MBA-Master's of Real Estate Development degree from the University of Southern California, with a focus on real estate finance. During his studies, Javier interned with Cirrus Real Estate Partners, a New York-based real estate debt fund, to gain practical experience in complex financial modeling and quantitative analysis.

Ultimately, Javier De Leon's experience and expertise in real estate finance, development, and transaction structuring position him as a highly technical and well-rounded real estate professional, and a valuable addition to the Dekel Capital team.
