Shlomi Ronen Principal / Founder

Shlomi Ronen is a managing principal and founder of Dekel Capital where he is focused on the raising equity and debt for investors and developers acquiring both performing and non-performing assets.

He has worked in real estate for over 20 years and has spent the last 16 years working in a real estate capital advisory role. In the past 16 years he has placed more than $2.5 billion in equity, mezzanine, and debt financing for investors and developers throughout the United States.

Prior to founding Dekel Capital he was a founding partner of Lucent Capital and opened and co-headed the Los Angeles office for the Carlton Group, a New York based real estate investment banking firm, and was a Senior Vice President at Los Angeles based George Smith Partners, where he was active in raising joint venture equity on behalf of institutional clients and executing both performing and non-performing note sales on behalf of financial institutions.

Mr. Ronen earned his MBA with a concentration in Real Estate Finance at the University of Southern California. Mr. Ronen is an adjunct professor at USC teaching a graduate level course on Real Estate Capital Markets in the Master’s of Real Estate Program.

A frequent guest presenter at industry conferences, he is also an active participant in numerous professional and charitable organizations including the Urban Land Institute SSDC Blue, ICSC, USC Lusk Center and the Los Angeles Jewish Federation’s Real Estate Cabinet. In October 2010, Mr. Ronen was named by Real Estate Forum magazine to its 40 Under 40 list.

Mike EasterManaging Director

Mike Easter serves as Managing Director for Dekel Capital where he advises clients on real estate capital markets including securing and structuring debt and equity capital for a wide range of investment real estate assets.

His career as an expert in Investment Real Estate & Capital Markets spans over 20 years with over $3.5 billion in real estate transactions including $2.5 billion in real estate debt and equity capital transactions. He is also a Founding Partner in Viewpoint Development, a San Diego based real estate firm focused on creating value through its expertise in the entitlement, development and asset management of multifamily assets.

His diverse real estate background which includes financing, investment sales, brokerage, development/construction, and property management, allows him to provide clients with unique insight and expertise across all aspects of investment real estate. He brings a strong commitment to continuous improvement and focuses on merging broad capital relationships with progressive systems and technology to deliver clients the best and most efficient capital and deal execution.

Prior to joining Dekel, he served as Vice President of Capital Markets for JPI responsible for financing and capital markets activity for the Company’s Western Region, which included sourcing, structuring, and negotiating the full capital stack for over $300 million in annual construction starts, as well as land loans, bridge financing, and equity recapitalizations of assets pre and post stabilization. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, he was also heavily involved in the strategy and execution within acquisitions, development, and asset management.

Mr. Easter previously held Senior positions with JLL, Newmark Knight Frank, and CBRE where he was consistently recognized as a top producer nationally and appointed to numerous strategic leadership roles within these top firms. His recognition as a top real estate expert also includes his election to the Board of Trustees for Funding Partners (a Community Development Financial Institution), the CCIM Institute’s National Board of Directors and Regional Vice President, and as an Adjunct Professor in Real Estate for the University of Denver.

He earned a Masters of Science degree, with honors, in Real Estate & Construction Management from the University of Denver and a Bachelors of Science degree, with high distinction, in Business Administration and Finance (with minors in Real Estate & Entrepreneurship) from the University of Colorado. He holds designations as a CCIM and as a Financial Modeling and Valuation Analyst (FMVA).

Matin has extensive experience in securing financing on a wide variety of complex real estate transactions including the acquisition, refinancing, recapitalization and the adaptive reuse of individual assets and portfolios in hospitality, industrial, multifamily, office and retail.

Matin was born and raised in Los Angeles. He earned a B.S. in Biology from the University of California, Santa Barbara and earned a Certificate in Real Estate from UCLA.
